By the Inch

My grandmother used to say, "By the yard it's hard, but by the inch it's a cinch". This is a great idea for life. I've found many things are more easily done in small bits. My master's thesis was done 200 words at a time. Learning chinese or spanish has been one day at a time. Perhaps patience is required for such small work.
